Uniting clubs and communities against SCA

Arrhythmia Alliance has joined forces with footballer Fabrice Muamba and Bolton Wanderers Football Club to launch Hearts & Goals, a campaign to reduce deaths from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

The campaign aims to create a UK where all communities have public-access defibrillators to save lives before emergency services arrive, and where everyone is trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) involving the use of an AED.

With this ultimate aim, the stated goals of the Hearts & Goals campaign are:

  • 500 New public-access defibrillators purchased and located in Britain’s communities
  • 200 First-aiders trained in CPR and defibrillator training
  • 500,000 pulses checked for signs of heart rhythm disorders
